2010? Forget About It. I Did.

Let’s pretend last year never happened.   It was not one of my best.  In fact, it sucked.  I’m just tucking 2010 away to that that place in my brain that isolates things like songs from the 80’s that I don’t want to remember, and having all my wisdom teeth removed in one go, unpleasant things like that.

The image above is one of the few drawings I did last year that I’m pleased with.  I drew it for Julia Kay’s Portrait Party on Flickr.   Artists post pictures of themselves and we all draw each other.   There are so many amazing artists participating and more are joining all the time.  When I joined up around June of last year there were around 200.  Now there are over 450.

I’m so glad this is going strong because I only managed to do 17 drawings,  and I want to get back to this.  There have been so many artists who have drawn pictures of me and I want to return the favor.  I hope to have some new drawings to share soon.

Thanks for sticking with me!  I’ll be making some updates to the blog pages and generally trying to make things more interesting.  But for now, I have some drawing to do.

Cheers!

    1. Thanks, Es! I’ve been enjoying all the ATCs you’ve been making lately. We are way overdue for a trade, don’t you think?

    1. Thanks Raena! I’m trying to get back to sketching regularly. It’s so hard for me to get motivated in the winter. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Joan. I’ve always been impressed by your pencil drawings and now you are doing such lovely work in pen and watercolor. I love that you posting more often than last year. I just love your work.

  1. I used to belong to a group that did portrait and figure work, but I found my real love was landscape, but seeing these has made me wonder wether I should discipline myself to do some more of this gendre. You make it look so simple.

    1. Thanks John. I do love to draw people. I was talking to my mom the other day and she told me that I started drawing around 3 or 4 and the first things I tried to draw were faces. You do lovely work ,btw. I think we all do our best work when we are drawing and painting what we love.
