The other day I posted about the Secret Solstice gifts I made last month.  Here’s the second gift I made.  This was for my old mail art pal Annette.  We’ve traded a bit here and there for about five years now.   I knew she was a Poe fan and since I’d been drawing a lot of Edgar Allan Poe portraits this year I felt it would be pretty easy to do another.  This one is 5″ x 7″.  It was nice to work a little larger than I’m used to.

One more gift to go…coming soon.

January: On my way to Artzona

So glad to have a nice trip to Arizona to look forward to. This year I’m attending Artzona, a weekend gathering of artists from my mail art trading sites, ATCs for All and Illustrated ATCs. We’ll hang out, make and trade art, and make a lot of racket. A great way to escape the winter doldrums.

I’ve been making ATCs to trade over weekend. Here’s one I made last night.

I have friend who likes Buster Keaton, so I’m sure this card will have a great new home.

India ink on paper, 6 x 4 inches

I was looking through Morguefile for some reference photos for a project and came across this photo of a pensive homeless man.  I got out a brush and my india ink and had a wonderful time trying to capture the expression of the photo.
